Shadow was surrendered to us due to a history of biting when strangers entered the home, but once you know his story, it's easy to understand why. Before coming to us, Shadow was living in filthy conditions, severely underweight, bullied by another dog in the home and generally neglected. He simply never had the upbringing that would have taught him to trust people, so it's no wonder he learned to protect himself.

Since arriving, Shadow has come such a long way. He is slowly gaining weight, learning that people can be trusted, and discovering his playful side for the first time. He loves earning extra treats during training and is eager to learn. Shadow is an active boy who is looking for an experienced, adult only home where he can settle into a quiet environment and continue building his confidence.

Right now Shadow is avoidant and nervous around other dogs, but he may do well alongside a gentle, patient dog who could help him continue to grow. Most of all, Shadow just needs time, patience and someone willing to help him become the confident, happy dog he is capable of being.
