About Blake & Tasha

Blake and Tasha were abandoned in a house, left terrified and neglected until the tenant reached out to us for help. These two are such characters, and while they may be small, they are mighty in every sense. Their bond with each other is strong and beautiful, a reminder that even when they had nothing, they always had one another. You will usually find them sleeping side by side or taking a stroll together, sticking close no matter what.

Blake and Tasha are both head shy and nervous around handling, so they need patient, gentle approaches from anyone getting to know them. They are not overly cuddly dogs, since too much affection can actually make them uncomfortable, but they do love a good treat and a nice ear scratch on their own terms. Both dogs need time to warm up and will not trust right away, and right now they really only rely on each other rather than the people around them.

Due to their history of nipping, Blake and Tasha would not do well in a home with children. They are still being slowly evaluated around other dogs, as they can become nervous and reactive in those situations. What they need most is an adopter with patience and understanding, someone willing to let them set the pace as they learn to trust again, together.
