About Bruno

Bruno came to us as a surrender, and like so many dogs who arrive carrying the weight of their past, he needed time to find his footing. He has come such a long way since then and continues to show us every day just how resilient and eager he truly is.

Bruno is a dog who lights up when he has a job to do. He is an expert at fetch, a natural on our agility course, and absolutely lives for learning new things. Train him with treats and you will have his full, undivided attention. He is the kind of dog who thrives when his mind is engaged and his efforts are rewarded.

Bruno's reactivity comes from a place of deep fear, and it is important that his adopter understands that. He can bite, and introductions with unfamiliar people must always be slow, controlled, and muzzled. This is not a dog who will do well in a busy or unpredictable environment. He needs a calm, quiet home with a consistent routine, minimal visitors, and an adopter who knows how to help a fearful dog feel safe rather than overwhelmed.

We are looking for someone with genuine, hands-on experience with fear-based reactivity who understands that building trust with a dog like Bruno takes patience and time. His home must be a house rather than an apartment, teens or older only, with someone committed to continuing his training for the long term.

Bruno's future family will need to visit him at Dog Tales several times before adoption to build a bond with him and fully understand his needs before he goes home.

Underneath all of his worry, Bruno is a sensitive, intelligent, and deeply devoted dog. He just needs the right person to help him feel safe enough to show it.
