about choi
Choi is a strong and determined boy who's overcome incredible neglect to become a loyal, loving companion. Surrendered when he was abandoned, Choi lived in an environment where his needs weren't being met, but he's proven that with care and dedication, transformation is possible.
Choi presents as tough and determined most of the time, but once he accepts you into his inner circle, he reveals his true nature as a genuine cuddle bear. His loyalty runs deep, and he's incredibly devoted to those he trusts. This sweet boy spends his days showing off his impressive trick repertoire for treats, playing ball with enthusiasm, and soaking up all the pets he can get. On special occasions, he might even grace you with his presence on your lap.
When first rescued, Choi had no leash manners or training, and his reactivity and protective behavior were intense. Through months of dedicated work, he's shown remarkable progress and transformation. He's extremely food motivated and thrives on structure, making him a joy to work with for those who understand his needs.
Choi is very selective with other dogs and cannot be around small dogs or cats. He might potentially integrate into a home with another large dog, preferably a female or an easygoing male, though this would require several muzzled introductions to determine compatibility. He can still be reactive toward dogs, vehicles, and strangers at times.
Choi would flourish in a home with no children in a quiet environment, though he might be suitable for a home with teens if the family has significant experience with dogs of his temperament. He needs an active adopter who has experience with his type of demeanor and is committed to continuing his training long-term.
