About Meatball

Meatball was rescued from an overcrowded Arkansas shelter that was shutting its doors. He arrived underweight and unwell, a shadow of the dog he was meant to be. With time, love, and dedicated care, he has completely transformed. Today he is thriving and looks like an entirely different dog.

Meatball loves hard. He is a fetch fanatic, a water baby who lives for a swim, and a world-class snuggler who will lean into your lap like it is his full-time job. He also has a serious sense of adventure. Meatball adores car rides, loves exploring the outdoors, and has even joined members of our staff on camping trips where he was an absolute joy to have along. Once he is yours, he is truly yours.

Meatball is looking for an experienced adult only home. He is highly protective and reactive around unfamiliar people and has the potential to bite. Introductions with new people must always be slow, controlled, and muzzled. He thrives with a calm routine, minimal visitors, and a quiet neighbourhood where life is predictable and low-key. He is selective with dogs, but with the right match he can be a genuinely fun and playful companion.

We are looking for an adopter who has real, hands-on experience with reactive dogs and understands what that commitment looks like day to day. Meatball needs someone who is patient, consistent, and genuinely excited about continuing his training for the long haul. His home must be a house rather than an apartment, adults only, with the time and dedication his care requires.

His future family will need to visit him at Dog Tales several times before adoption to get to know him, learn his training needs, and build trust together before he heads home.

Meatball has been through a lot and come out the other side. He deserves someone who will meet him where he is and see just how wonderful he can be.
