About Molly

Molly was surrendered to us after her owner had to move into a retirement home. Before that, she had spent her whole life being cared for by two elderly people and had never really been out in the world or met many new people. Because of this, Molly is very protective of her home and the people she loves, and she can be reactive when strangers approach or enter her space. She needs slow, patient introductions, since rushing things can cause her to lunge or snap. Molly also missed out on socializing with other dogs growing up, so she can be reactive around them too, though she has made dog friends before when given the right match and a few gentle meetings. If her future family already has a dog, some supervised visits together would be needed first to make sure everyone gets along.

Molly would thrive in a quiet, low traffic home without children, where she can take her time settling in. Once she feels safe, she is affectionate, loyal and full of love. She adores car rides, long walks and curling up close with the people she trusts. Molly just needs someone willing to earn her trust slowly, and in return she will give her whole heart.
