About Nick

Nick has been through more than any good boy should have to endure, but you'd never know it by his wagging tail and easy smile. Over two years ago, he was pulled from a shelter's euthanasia list by a woman. She took him in and tried to find him a forever home, but the right match never came along. Then life took a hard turn: they became homeless, and Nick spent months living in a crate in her car. Through it all, he never lost his sweetness.

Despite everything, Nick is one of the most wonderful, loyal dogs you could hope to meet. He's smart and clearly enjoys showing off his tricks with the people he trusts. His manners are impeccable, and he's polite and easygoing when meeting new people.

Nick does great with kids and has always been gentle with them, but like many shepherds, he can get a little mouthy or jump up when he's excited. He'd do best in a home with dog savvy children who understand how to handle his enthusiasm.

When it comes to other dogs, Nick needs time. He does better with female dogs, and introductions need to be slow and gradual. He doesn't do well meeting other dogs too quickly, so patience and a careful approach make all the difference.

Nick is dealing with some orthopaedic issues that we are looking into, but don't let that fool you. He's still active, playful, and ready for adventure. He just needs a family that can continue his medical plan.
