Rowan joined our shelter family after the passing of his beloved owner. This older gentleman has touched all of our hearts with his dignified demeanour, gentle soul, and quiet resilience.
Rowan treasures his daily walks and loves exploring the outdoors, where his curious spirit truly shines. He moves at his own thoughtful pace, taking in every scent and sound with a calm attentiveness that’s uniquely his. After his adventures, Rowan enjoys winding down with peaceful rest and quiet companionship.
He's looking for a calm, understanding home, ideally with adults or teens, where he can enjoy a predictable routine and where his need for downtime is respected. Rowan prefers not to be disturbed while resting, so a home without young children would be the best fit for him.
Medically, Rowan has been diagnosed with thyroid disease, which is well managed with daily medication. He simply requires recheck bloodwork twice a year to stay on track. He also recently underwent a dental procedure to address his dental disease; although he lost a few teeth, it hasn’t dimmed his joyful spirit one bit—you’ll still catch him flashing his charming smile.
As for other dogs, Rowan is still being thoughtfully evaluated. His interactions so far have been promising, and we’re continuing to learn more about what kind of canine companionship might suit him best.
