about juneau

Juneau is a gentle and sweet girl with striking blue eyes and the most adorable "aawwwoo" that will melt your heart every time. This well-trained lady has wonderful house manners and is incredibly friendly with people of all ages, especially small children. While she's dealing with some mobility issues that have slowed her down a bit, she still gets excited and eager for her beloved dog walks and enjoys taking her time to sniff all the interesting scents along the way.

Unfortunately, Juneau was surrendered after losing her furry sibling, which left her anxious and struggling with some house training setbacks. She's made tremendous progress in foster care and has gained much-needed weight, but she's still a sensitive soul who needs patience, confidence-building, and unconditional love. She may have occasional accidents in the house, especially when she's feeling anxious or unsure, but she clearly feels bad about these mistakes and responds beautifully to positive reinforcement.

Car rides are absolutely Juneau's favorite activity - she's an excellent passenger who loves lying quietly in the back seat, listening to the radio or music. She walks beautifully on a leash. She's made significant strides with her separation anxiety and can now stay comfortably in her room for a few hours, though she still needs a quiet, secure environment to feel her best.

Juneau loves having her own special bed and room where she feels safe and secure. She's food motivated, especially for snacks, and has the best appetite after a good sleep, bathroom break, and car ride. Her ideal family will be patient and understanding, providing her with the quiet, loving environment she needs to continue building her confidence.

This sweet girl is looking for a family who can offer her the security and gentle care she deserves. She needs owners who understand that healing takes time and are willing to work with her on house training while she continues to settle into her new life. With the right family's love and patience, Juneau will blossom into the confident, loving companion she's meant to be. Juneau would be most comfortable in a home with no other pets.
