We are searching for a 4th full-time RVT to join our growing family and help us provide care for our dogs. Our rescue is equipped with a fully operational lab that includes IDEXX blood analyzers. The ideal applicant must have excellent technical skills, and must be able to work in a very fast-paced environment both independently, and as a part of a team. The applicant must be organized, have excellent time management skills, and be punctual and reliable. Applicants must be available days/evenings/weekends as we have a rotating schedule. Experience in regular and emergency/referral practices is preferred, and shelter experience is an asset. A clean drivers abstract is also required.
Our secretary is responsible for answering phone calls, returning e-mails, managing adoption appointments and processing adoptions. The ideal candidate must be exceptionally organized, and must be able to work efficiently in a fast paced environment with frequent interruptions. The ability to prioritize and work independently is critical to this role. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a passion for customer service is essential.
The ideal candidate is an organized, creative and personable individual who will work with our media team to create original content, images and videos for our social media pages. This individual will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite programs, and keen attention to detail. Experience with photography, videography and website management is preferred. We're looking for someone who can think outside the box, and who knows how to bring their great ideas to life. Social media success requires acting in real time, and, as such, this is not a 9-5 job. A flexible schedule and the ability to work well under pressure is a must.
Our dog handlers are responsible for ensuring that our dogs are out of their rooms enjoying the great outdoors as much as possible throughout the day. Dog handlers work together to conduct afternoon playgroups, and assist senior handlers with training and rehabilitation. This is a physically demanding position and applicants must be comfortable on their feet all day (in all weather conditions!). Dog handlers must be confident working with dogs of various breeds, sizes, and personalities. Familiarity with positive reinforcement training techniques is an asset. Sunday availability is required.
Our horse handlers provide daily care for our 75 rescued horses including feeding, grooming, turning in and out, and mucking. This is a physically demanding position and applicants must feel comfortable being outdoors in all weather conditions.
ANIMAL CARE ATTENDANT
Animal care attendants assist our veterinary technicians with the day-to-day care of our dogs, including feeding, administering medication, hydrotherapy and restraint. A post-secondary Animal Care certificate is required.
Our incredible cleaners ensure that our shelter is always sparkling in order to keep our dogs happy, comfortable, and healthy while they wait for forever homes. Keen attention to detail is key, and Sunday availability is required.
Our Night Guards are responsible for the well-being of all of our animals between the hours of 10:00 P.M. and 6:00 A.M. Night Guards must have a minimum of 3 years experience in a security position, and must be able to work independently. Good physical condition is necessary, as regular patrols of the property are required. Experience working with animals is an asset.
