Our office manager single-handedly manages scheduling for a full time staff of 50 employees, and oversees bookkeeping for our organization. The ideal candidate must be exceptionally organized, and must be able to work efficiently in a fast paced environment with frequent interruptions. The ability to prioritize and work independently is critical to this role. Our office manager is also responsible for answering phone calls, returning e-mails, and managing adoption appointments. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and previous office administration or managerial experience is required.
The ideal candidate is an organized, creative and personable individual who will work with our media team to create original content, images and videos for our social media pages. This individual will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite programs, and keen attention to detail. Social media success requires acting in real time, and, as such, this is not a 9-5 job. A flexible schedule and the ability to work well under pressure is a must.
Our dog handlers are responsible for ensuring that our dogs are out of their rooms enjoying the great outdoors as much as possible throughout the day. Dog handlers work together to conduct afternoon playgroups, and assist senior handlers with training and rehabilitation. This is a physically demanding position and applicants must be comfortable on their feet all day (in all weather conditions!). Dog handlers must be confident working with dogs of various breeds, sizes, and personalities. Sunday availability is required.
ANIMAL CARE ATTENDANT
Animal care attendants assist our veterinary technicians with the day-to-day care of our dogs, including feeding, administering medication, hydrotherapy and restraint. A post-secondary Animal Care certificate is required.
Our incredible cleaners ensure that our shelter is always sparkling in order to keep our dogs happy, comfortable, and healthy while they wait for forever homes. Keen attention to detail is key, and Sunday availability is required.
Many of the dogs who arrive at our shelter have never been groomed in their lives. This makes the grooming experience extremely rewarding, though certainly not without challenges. Our groomers work together to ensure that all of our dogs are always looking and feeling their best. A minimum of two years work experience, and a knowledge of breed-specific clips is required.
Our horse handlers provide daily care for our 75 rescued horses including feeding, grooming, turning in and out, and mucking. This is a physically demanding position and applicants must feel comfortable being outdoors in all weather conditions.
