Donate Towards Zelda and Emiliana

Parvovirus is shed through the feces of infected dogs. Vulnerable dogs include young or unvaccinated dogs as well as immune compromised animals. Once the animal is infected, symptoms include vomiting, diarrhea and anorexia. Intervention and treatment must be started immediately as this can be life-threatening. Both Emiliana and Zelda received IV fluids, electrolyte supplementation and daily feeding through a feeding tube. They received multiple medications including antibiotics, anti-nausea and plasma. They had 24 hour care with many ups and downs for 10 days before being released into our care. Both puppies are still on antibiotics and probiotics to ensure they continue their road to recovery.
