The Journey of The 21
Three years ago, authorities raided a compound in Tilbury, Ontario and seized 31 pit bulls from a dog fighting operation. The dogs were found with severe scarring on their head, neck and forelimbs. They were found attached to chains and tied to metal stakes in the ground. Three of the dogs were immediately euthanized for medical reasons. Many puppies were actually born from this group and have never known a life of peace. The remaining 28 underwent behavioural evaluation by the OSPCA and 21 were deemed a “menace to society”. The OSPCA filed to euthanize the 21.
This is where we stepped in to give these innocent pit bulls a chance at a happy life. No animal deserves the death sentence. After a lengthy legal long battle, and with the help of celebrity voices such as Paris Hilton, Don Cherry, Maggie Q, Natalie Imbruglia and Adrien Grenier, the OSPCA finally agreed to allow Dog Tales to step in and assist in their rehabiliation and adoption.

The 21 received rigorous training and behavioural assessment from a specialized training facility in north Florida. They were given tailored one-on-one attention and specialized training that has allowed them to recover from the trauma they experienced. After working toward recovery for almost three years, these lovable creatures have now transformed into happy and healthy companions and are ready for their forever homes.
